I'm going out in a bit, but I knew Priscilla wanted to see the sweater I knitted for the baby shower I went to today. It was exciting to actually make something and finish it. It was fun, except for the part where I took apart the button band three times. I like knitting.
This was my first ever sweater.
The yarn was Wheat Thick and Quick Lion brand-just simple stuff from Joanne's.
I had no intentions of making a sweater, but at the winter retreat, we we're lounging in the sunshine, enjoying ourselves, and I wished I had some yarn to knit with.
My friend Heather had an extra ball of this, and she had a pattern book, and by the end of the day, the back was done. I came home and bought my own ball of the stuff and decided to make the sweater for Rachel Buckwalter's baby. Switch that. I decided at the retreat that the sweater would be for Rachel's baby, but I was dubious about it actually getting done.
If I ever make the pattern again, I'll make the sleeves a few stitches wider.
Some people ask how I do it all?
No one had breakfast today, that's how.
The buttons were very sweet, from the Quilt Tree.
We're finishing up the moose pasta Auntie Laura gave us many moons ago.
While I'm at it, how 'bout some Iditarod photos?
The puppy had to be pried from Erin's dead cold fingers.
Don't you think Alaska suits her?
She looks so happy.
Noah, Selah, Jonas...
they all want one.
I would be interested in finding out how many of the puppies bought at the Iditarod actually stayed with the new families that took them home that day.
Doesn't double chin look great on me?
eek.
Where is Jonas in this picture?
I know he came home with us.
Hmm...
